On the road
A tent breaks or another trek gets added. The gear may already be nearby; finding the right person at the right time is the harder part.
Moving on
Flying home or heading north? Useful trekking gear can become dead weight. Passing it on may make more sense than carrying it into the next country.
Rentals, shops, hostels and Facebook groups already solve many cases. We are looking at the awkward ones: longer use, second-hand gear, short handoff windows and travellers moving between towns.
We have seen this pattern around Bariloche, Puerto Varas, El Chaltén, El Calafate, Puerto Natales and Ushuaia. A planned place and month is enough to take part.
