What this service actually is

Global Work & Travel sells paid support packages for working holidays and other work-abroad programs. Depending on the destination and package, support can include visa guidance, a trip coordinator, arrival services and job matching. It does not replace government visa eligibility rules or the employer's final hiring decision.

Agency support vs doing it yourself

A working holiday can be organised independently. Paying an agency mainly buys structure, guidance and access to package-specific support. The trade-off is the program fee.

  • DIY can fit: if you are comfortable researching the visa, finding work and arranging accommodation yourself.
  • Paid support can fit: if reducing admin and having a coordinator matters more than minimising service cost.
  • Package matters: do not assume every trip includes pre-arrival job matching or the same arrival services.

Working holiday basics

Age & passport Eligibility depends on your nationality and destination, commonly with 18-30 or 18-35 age limits.
Possible duration Current provider pages show Canada programs around 4-24 months and Australia up to 36 months, subject to visa eligibility.
Where support is strongest Australia and Canada have detailed Working Holiday packages with local arrival support.
Package structure Lite, Standard and Plus can differ materially in job matching, arrival help and extras.

Visa eligibility comes from the relevant government, not Global Work & Travel. Verify the official immigration rules for your passport before buying a support package.

WHAT YOU MAY BE PAYING FOR

Support can include

  • Visa guidance: trip coordinators and preparation support, while the application and eligibility remain yours.
  • Job support: Standard and Plus pages for Australia and Canada currently advertise pre-arrival job matching, subject to terms and employer decisions.
  • Arrival setup: depending on the package, this can include airport pickup, initial accommodation and local setup guidance.

DO NOT GENERALISE

Package differences that matter

  • Australia Lite: currently positioned as arrival support without the job match; it includes access to a traveller-focused jobs board.
  • Australia Standard / Plus: current pages advertise pre-arrival job matching. Plus adds further extras, and the first three hostel nights are currently covered on Plus.
  • Canada Standard / Plus: current pages advertise job matching and arrival support; staff housing may be available through some employers but is not universal.
  • Job role and location: preferences can be considered, but the provider says it cannot guarantee a specific profession, role or location.

BUDGET REALITY

What you still handle and pay for

  • Program fee: the support package itself is an additional travel cost.
  • Flights: current Canada information lists flights as an extra cost.
  • Travel insurance: current provider information lists insurance separately.
  • Visa and checks: visa fees and, where required, background checks are additional.
  • Ongoing housing: initial nights or staff housing can be package or employer dependent.
  • Arrival buffer: keep savings for food, transport, bond, rent and time before your first pay.
