Tradel App – Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers about how Tradel works, how item requests, listings and notifications function, how to trade safely, and how the app supports your travels worldwide.

Tradel is a travel marketplace and community for people on the move — connecting travellers with locals and other travellers. You can buy, sell or swap items exactly where you are or where you're going next.

You can create a request for an item you are looking for, choose your radius or future travel route and receive notifications when matching items appear nearby.

After logging in you can create a listing by adding photos, a short description, price or exchange conditions and setting where the item is available along your travel route.

Tradel works both on the road and at home. You can use it to sell or trade items with travellers and people nearby — and it becomes even more powerful when your location changes frequently.

Tradel connects you with other users. You arrange payment and handover directly via chat, for example cash in person, mobile payment or a swap deal. We recommend meeting in public places and checking items carefully.

The core Tradel experience is free and accessible for everyone. With Travel Mode, you unlock the full potential and extra comfort. Especially useful if you’re interested in multiple items and topics and want to receive dynamic notifications while you travel.

Tradel is built as an international app. You can use it wherever you have an internet connection, but the number of listings and active users may differ from country to country and city to city while we roll out.

Tradel only asks for the information that is necessary to run the marketplace and core app features, such as your contact details, listings and messages. The app follows European data protection standards and you can manage your profile, listings and notifications in the settings.

Yes — when creating a listing you can add multiple locations where your item is available. This is especially useful if you’re flexible and want to reach more potential buyers along your route.

For each listing you can define from which earliest date you’re able to sell the item. This helps you connect with interested people early — and it helps others plan their travel route in advance.

Use chat to clarify details, meet in well-lit public places, and take a moment to check the item before you hand over money. For higher-value trades, consider bringing a friend or choosing a busy pickup spot.
