By accessing or using TRADEL, you agree to this policy.

What data we collect

Account information: username, email address, password and profile details.

Listings: information you provide when you publish products or services.

Messages: chat history and communication between users.

Technical data: IP address, device information, browser data and usage statistics.

Location data: location data is used to show relevant listings and requests near you, enable map-based discovery, and support live location-based features.

Only your most recent location is stored; older data is deleted immediately.

No movement profile or location history is created.

Publicly shown location data is only displayed in an approximate form.

Background location is only used when specific features are activated by the user.

Providing and improving TRADEL’s core features.

Connecting users and displaying relevant listings or requests.

Supporting the chat function and user communication.

Ensuring security and detecting misuse or fraud.

Sending notifications about updates or changes to the platform.

Using location data to provide nearby, route-relevant and real-time content.

Enabling dynamic listings that can move with users while traveling.
Automatic search near you: when you activate certain location-based features, TRADEL may check your location periodically to inform you about relevant listings, requests or opportunities nearby. This feature can be paused or deactivated at any time.

Background location usage
Background location is only used when the user activates specific features such as Travel Mode or live, location-based listings.

Travel Mode: location may be updated periodically in the background so users can be informed about relevant listings, requests or services along their route.

Live listings: if a user activates live, on-the-road listings, location may be updated periodically in the background so the listing can move with the user.

These features are not active by default and can be enabled or disabled by the user at any time.

Background location is not used continuously by default and is only processed for the active feature selected by the user.
We do not sell personal data. We only share it with:

Trusted service providers (e.g. hosting, databases, analytics).

Public authorities, where required by law.

Other users, only where necessary for listings, chats or exchange transactions.
Private data (e.g. address, email, phone number) is never displayed publicly.

Data security
We use modern encryption, firewalls and security protocols to protect your data. However, no system can guarantee absolute security.

Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have in particular the following rights:

Erasure (“right to be forgotten”) or restriction of processing.

Account deletion

When you delete your account, it is first deactivated for 30 days. Your profile and listings are not visible during this period.

If you log in again within these 30 days, your account can be reactivated.

After 30 days, a final, irreversible deletion (hard delete) of all associated data takes place.

Note: certain information may temporarily remain in system backups, but is automatically removed in line with our backup rotation.

Data retention

Personal data is stored only as long as necessary for operating the platform or fulfilling legal obligations.

Location data is always overwritten with the most recent update; no history is kept.

Background location checks are strictly opt-in, can be disabled at any time and run only while an eligible feature such as Travel Mode or live listings is active.

Once the relevant feature is deactivated, expired or no longer active, related background location processing stops.

Legal basis & compliance
We process data on the basis of consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) as well as for performance of a contract and pre-contractual measures (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). TRADEL complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable German data protection laws.
