3-Day Fes to Marrakech Desert Tour via Merzouga

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Middle Atlas – Merzouga Your journey begins in Fes in the morning. Travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains and stop in Ifrane, known for its European-style architecture and surrounding forests. Continue to the Cedar Forest, where you may see the native Barbary macaques. Drive through Midelt and continue across the dramatic landscapes toward the Ziz Valley, with a stop to admire the panoramic views of the valley and its palm groves. Continue to Merzouga, at the edge of the Sahara Desert. In the afternoon, ride camels into the Erg Chebbi dunes, enjoying the desert scenery and sunset from the dunes. Arrive at your desert camp for dinner, traditional music and an overnight stay under the stars. Meals: Dinner and breakfast Highlights: Ifrane, Cedar Forest, Middle Atlas, Ziz Valley, camel trek, Erg Chebbi sunset and desert camp Day 2: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the Sahara dunes before breakfast at the camp. Return to Merzouga by camel or 4x4 and continue toward Rissani, a historic town and former trading center of the region. Travel through the desert landscapes toward Tinghir and visit the spectacular Todra Gorges, where towering limestone cliffs surround the narrow valley. Enjoy time to explore the gorge and take a short walk. Continue through the Dades Valley, passing Berber villages, palm groves and dramatic rock formations. Arrive at your accommodation in the Dades area for the evening. Meals: Breakfast and dinner Highlights: Sahara sunrise, Rissani, Tinghir, Todra Gorges and Dades Valley Day 3: Dades Valley – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech After breakfast, continue along the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing through the Rose Valley and the scenic landscapes of southern Morocco. Continue to Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the Sahara and for its film studios and kasbahs. From here, visit Ait Benhaddou, a historic fortified village and UNESCO World Heritage Site. After exploring Ait Benhaddou, cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass, enjoying spectacular mountain scenery along the way. Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon or evening, where your 3-day desert adventure comes to an end.
